Fast 5, Open Mat
Still working the Fast 5 angle of intermittent fasting. It wasn’t as difficult today which means I’m becoming accustomed to the new eating schedule. I feel more committed than ever so I’m just going to keep going for a while as an experiment.
In open mat I rolled for a bit with a new white belt. He was quite strong and I was able to make good use of what I have learned so far.
Then I rolled with Tyler which I really enjoy. Yes he tapped me out a half dozen times but I never fail to pick up something to work on with him. This time he showed me how to put my forearm under the neck of an opponent who is passing my guard by holding my legs and taking his legs to the opposite side from his head.
We also worked some armbar defense. I often end up caught in the beginning of an armbar with my opponent trying to get my arm and me hiding it. GET MY ELBOW TO THE MAT. Tough but doable I think. I didn’t gas out so that was good.
Aidan has been catching people in an Americana from underhook sitout. Tonight he tried it on Matt Payne and Chris. Everyone agrees it is a sweet sub.
I thought I might run out of energy since I probably only consumed around 1000 calories today but so far so good.
