Kingston BJJ, Rain, Groceries
Long day. In bed. Boys are in bed too. Rain drumming on the roof. It has been uncommonly warm for November. The rain could just as easily have been snow. Darn cat is meowing outside my door.
Today was Leo Santos’ last day at Martial Arts Planet. We learned how to bait someone in side control so that they are tempted to turn away from us so that we can collar choke them. We also practiced kimura’s and armbars from side control.
I was working with my son and at one point he pulled back and jammed my fingers. My fingers popped with a distinct snapping sound and we both stopped, a bit freaked out. Turns out I am fine but it sure sounded gross.
Afterwards I worked with Chris. Baby steps. I asked him a few questions about how to stop him passing my guard so fast and we worked that for a bit. He told me to stop him getting a leg inside and even to frame off his head to get my hips free again as he tries to pass. I held him off for a bit longer than usual before the inevitable submissions. Patience Grasshopper.
