It is kind of overcast here in Kingston today. Thin winter sun is coming in the window.
Woke early. Crap. Went to bed late so I’m starting the weekend off on the wrong foot. Cooked the boys a hearty breakfast and then stuffed the Gi’s in the washer. Another “crap” cause there is no chance they will be dry for class.
There is a MOUNTAIN of laundry down there.
BJJ Class is in two hours. A bunch of the guys headed out to the big Joslin’s tournament in Toronto. I don’t think that the tournaments are ever held here in Kingston. Ontario seems to host them in the bigger cities. I guess that’s normal.
Before class I have to chauffeur my eldest out to his girlfriends place in the country, wash the kitchen floor, give the bathrooms a scrub, vacuum.
After BJJ I’ll be helping my GF with renovations at her place.
Quick post note: BJJ at Martial Arts Planet was take-downs again. Double leg from the knees. Finer points of how to hold the legs so that your opponent doesn’t pull guard. I feel incredibly broken today. My fingers are sore at the joints, right hip flexor is a mess and is pulling on my back. Tip of my right elbow is downright painful. Neck is in a knot. WHAT THE HELL! Am I 46 or 106? BJJ in your 40′s needs to be re-tooled, and tried from a different angle. Some base strength, flexibility and endurance work obviously.
So I’m going to do the logical thing and go shopping for pizza fixings and we’ll all sit, eat and watch a movie and REST
