My latest toy is a LinkSys Wireless G Home Monitoring Camera
I hooked it up and forwarded my router ports so that I can see it via the internet. That way I can see the dogs on the porch and hear whether they are barking FROM WORK …How cool is that.
It works quite well although in lower light conditions it’s a bit dim. Here’s a screen shot from tonight

I had no real trouble getting it going but it still took a couple of days of fooling around to learn how to configure the network.
Basically it is a Linksys WVC54GCA Wireless-G Internet Home Monitoring Camera wired through a 2701HG-G Gateway 2-Wire Wireless router / modem.
Not sure how much bandwidth it chews up but I am chuffed that I was able to figure out the technical bits on my own. Anyone out there struggling with this can ask me how I did it.
